How AccuSense collects, uses, and protects your information.
Effective Date: February 13, 2025 | Last Updated: February 13, 2025
AccuSense, LLC (“AccuSense,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information and your building data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website (accusense.io), use our IoT platform, or interact with our services.
When you interact with our website or services, we may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, including:
Your name, email address, phone number, and company name when you submit a contact form or request a demo. Job title and role information when you register for our platform. Billing and payment information when you subscribe to our services. Communications and correspondence you send to us.
Our IoT platform collects environmental and operational data from sensors deployed in your building. This may include energy consumption metrics (kWh, demand, power factor), temperature, humidity, and air quality readings, occupancy counts and traffic flow data, water flow rates and leak detection alerts, asset location and movement data, and equipment performance and status information.
This data is associated with your account and building, not with individually identifiable persons. Our occupancy sensors use privacy-first technologies (thermal, depth, or millimeter wave) that do not capture images, video, or biometric data of building occupants.
When you visit our website, we may automatically collect device and browser information (type, operating system, screen resolution), IP address and approximate geographic location, pages visited, time spent, and navigation paths, and referring URLs and search terms.
We use your information to operate and deliver the AccuSense platform, including processing sensor data, generating analytics and reports, delivering real-time alerts and notifications, providing customer support, and maintaining and improving our services.
We may use your contact information to respond to your inquiries and demo requests, send service-related notices (maintenance, outages, security alerts), provide product updates and new feature announcements, and share industry insights and best practices. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly.
We use aggregated, de-identified data to analyze platform usage trends and improve our services, develop new features and capabilities, conduct research on building performance optimization, and create industry benchmarks and reports. Aggregated benchmarking data is always anonymized and cannot be traced back to any individual building or customer.
We do not sell your personal information or building data to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
We work with trusted third-party providers who assist in operating our platform, including cloud hosting and infrastructure providers, payment processors, email and communication services, and analytics tools. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only as directed by AccuSense.
We may disclose information if required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or legal process, respond to lawful requests from public authorities, protect the rights, property, or safety of AccuSense, our users, or the public, or enforce our terms of service or other agreements.
If AccuSense is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have regarding your data.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including AES-128 encryption for all sensor data transmission, TLS/SSL encryption for website and API communications, role-based access controls for platform users, regular security audits and penetration testing, data center SOC 2 Type II compliance, and automated threat detection and monitoring.
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and safeguard your account credentials.
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Building sensor data is retained according to your subscription plan, typically ranging from 12 months to unlimited historical data. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to any legal retention obligations. Upon account termination, we will delete or anonymize your data within 90 days unless otherwise required by law.
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, request a copy of your data in a portable format, object to or restrict certain processing activities, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
